National “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Enforcement Campaign Begins Dec. 13. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
On Friday, November 17th, 2023, at approximately 4:58 AM, Hemet Police Officers responded to a major injury traffic collision within the 900 block of N. Warren Road.
Hemet PD along with many California law enforcement agencies coordinated an unprecedented retail crime collaborative effort resulting in 137 arrests.
On October 25, 2023, Hemet Police Officers responded to a major injury traffic collision with one fatality. The investigation was turned over to CHP.

Hemet, California – On Wednesday in the early morning hours of September 20th, 2023 at about 3:42 AM, officers from The Hemet Police Department responded to a possible traffic collision within the 600 block of N. State Street in the City of Hemet. Officers on the scene discovered a collision had occurred involving a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
As of September 13, 2023, the investigation into allegations regarding inappropriate online contact with a juvenile by a Hemet Unified School District employee is ongoing.
Hemet Police Department, in collaboration with the Hemet Unified School District, immediately began conducting an independent investigation into the allegations of an online sexual predator.
Hemet, Calif. — On Wednesday, February 22, at approximately 6:39 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call regarding a large fight in the area of the 500 block of North Gilbert Street. Officers arrived on the scene and located an adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Campus Security at West Valley High School reported a physical altercation involving multiple students on campus. The School Resource Officer assigned to the high school, who was on campus, immediately responded.
The involved students were quickly separated, and one student received immediate medical attention at the school for minor injuries. This student was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and was released the same day.
The Hemet Police Department announced today that it has received a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to support its ongoing enforcement and education programs to help reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on our roads. The grant program runs through September 2026.
