Division of Victim Services
Victim Services is a division of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office designated to ensure victims are informed and supported throughout the criminal justice process. Victim Services Specialists work closely with prosecutors and are specially trained and educated to help children, elders, disabled persons and violent crime victims.
The Division of Victim Services can provide services to help you during all phases of the court case and can provide you with resources and referrals.
Services Available
Following victimization, the process of navigating the court system can be difficult and stressful. Many victims are also unaware of where to find support services such as therapy, support groups, and emergency assistance. We are here to help. Some of our services include:
-
- Help navigating the criminal justice system and status information about your case
- Providing contact information for local resources, counseling referrals, emergency assistance, and ongoing support while you learn to cope
- Court accompaniment
- Assistance in completing and filing applications for crime victim compensation – this program may help with funeral/burial expenses, help pay for medical care, therapy, and relocation services
- Providing education to you about your rights as a crime victim
