Hemet, California – On Wednesday in the early morning hours of September 20th, 2023 at about 3:42 AM, officers from The Hemet Police Department responded to a possible traffic collision within the 600 block of N. State Street in the City of Hemet. Officers on the scene discovered a collision had occurred involving a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Initial responding officers could not locate a vehicle on the scene and determined that the involved vehicle had fled the area prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
The Hemet Police Department’s Traffic Bureau was advised of the event and responded to assume the investigation. Traffic Investigators determined that the pedestrian was struck while in the #2 southbound lane of travel by a vehicle that was traveling southbound within the #2 southbound lane of travel. A follow-up investigation, which included canvasing the area for surveillance recording devices, was conducted. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld until the family can be notified of the serious injury collision.

Hemet, California – On Wednesday evening The Hemet Police Department’s Traffic Bureau identified the vehicle that was involved in the injury hit-and-run traffic collision. The suspect’s vehicle has been identified as a 2007 sliver Lexus LS460L with California licesne plate #9CWU978. This is still an active investigation and the Hemet Police Department is seeking assistance in locating the suspect vehicle.
