Bicyclist Killed in Traffic Collision 

Hemet, California – On Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM officers from the Hemet Police Department responded to a traffic collision on San Jacinto Street near the intersection of El Nita Lane, in the City of Hemet. Upon arrival, first responders located a bicyclist trapped under a vehicle.  Life-saving measures were attempted but tragically, the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.  The adult male’s identity is being withheld pending notification to his family.   Hemet Police Traffic Investigators responded and assumed the investigation.

Hemet, Calif. — On Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 11:31 a.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference an unresponsive male at Gibbel Park located at 2500 West Florida Avenue. Hemet Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the elderly male deceased.  Hemet Police Officers assumed the investigation and notified The Riverside County Coroner’s Office.  The preliminary investigation does not indicate the death is suspicious in nature.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

On Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 9:42 pm, the Hemet Police Department received a call of gunshots heard in the 800 block of South Palm Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE DURING AB 109 COMPLIANCE SWEEP

Hemet, Calif. — On October 10, 2024, the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force (Region 3) and Central P.A.C.T. (Post-release Accountability & Compliance Team) executed a large- scale joint operation in the cities of Hemet, San Jacinto and surrounding areas.  The operation focused on compliance checks and warrant services on those on parole, probation, mandatory supervision, and post-release community supervision (PRCS).
