Officer-Involved Shooting

A Hemet Police Department Officer was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Sunday, November 20, 2022.Independent investigators from the Riverside County Force Investigation Division, as well as those from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and the Hemet Police Department, responded to start their investigations. These investigations are just beginning, and the scene is still active as of this release.

The Hemet Police Department’s Detective Bureau is investigating a Homicide case after discovering a deceased adult female with visible injuries in the 400 block of West Stetson Avenue in Hemet, California.

Mobile Home Abandoned on Hemet Roadway

The Hemet Police Department responded to a traffic hazard. When officers arrived on scene, they located half of a double-wide mobile home on a trailer that had been abandoned within the westbound lanes of Stetson Avenue near Lyon Avenue in Hemet.

Homicide Investigation

The Hemet Police Department is conducting a Homicide Investigation following the discovery of a deceased male found near the 200 block of North San Jacinto Street in Hemet, CA.

two suspects arrested in human trafficking and torture case

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 2:28 p.m., Hemet Police officers responded to Hemet Global Medical Center following a report of sexual abuse. After an initial interview with the victim, the department’s Investigations Division took over the case to begin a detailed investigation.

Investigators determined that the victim had been subjected to torture, sexual assault, and forced prostitution. During the investigation, a second victim was identified who also reported that she had been trafficked, raped, and physically assaulted by the same suspects. The identities of both victims are being withheld for privacy and safety.

Through the course of the investigation, Davion Marshall and Travis Grisham were identified as the primary suspects. On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Hemet Police Investigators, with support from Southwest City SWAT, took both suspects into custody in the 300 block of South State Street in Hemet without incident.

On April 23, 2025, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Hemet Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Division Court regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near community mailboxes.

Upon arrival, officers located a tan/gold 1993 Jeep Cherokee parked directly adjacent to the mailboxes. The vehicle was occupied by an adult male, later identified as 42-year-old Naythan Story, who appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat while the vehicle was running.
