Lieutenant Gonzalo Alvarez is the Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau Lieutenant and oversees:
- Investigations Bureau
- Gang Task Force (GTF)
- Post Release Accountability Team (PACT)
- Gang Impact Team (GIT)
- Cannabis Regulation Task Force (CRTF)
- Property and Evidence
- Crime Scene Technicians
Lieutenant Alvarez was hired by the Hemet Police Department in 2006 and graduated from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Academy in 2007. Lieutenant Alvarez has held the following assignments:
- 2007 – Patrol
- 2014 – Field Training Officer (FTO)
- 2016 – Assigned to the Investigations Bureau as a Detective
- 2018 – Promoted to Investigator and assigned to the Investigations Bureau
- 2019 – President of the Hemet Police Officer’s Association (HPOA)
- 2020 – Promoted to Corporal and assigned to the Investigations Bureau
- 2020 – Assigned to Patrol as a Field Supervisor
- 2021 – Promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Patrol as a Watch Commander
- 2021 – Field training program coordinator
- 2022 – Assigned to the Investigations Bureau as a Sergeant
- 2024 – Promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Investigations Bureau
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Humboldt State University
- California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Supervisory Certificates
