On Friday, November 17th, 2023, at approximately 4:58 AM, Hemet Police Officers responded to a major injury traffic collision within the 900 block of N. Warren Road.
Hemet PD along with many California law enforcement agencies coordinated an unprecedented retail crime collaborative effort resulting in 137 arrests.
On Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 9:42 pm, the Hemet Police Department received a call of gunshots heard in the 800 block of South Palm Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Hemet, Calif. — On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from the 600 block of St. John Place regarding a disturbance. Moments later, the caller indicated someone had been shot. Upon officer’s arrival they located a crime scene but were unable to locate a shooting victim.
A short time later, a gunshot wound victim arrived at Hemet Global Medical Center. The male victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The name of the victim will not be released at this time pending official notification of his family. Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation.
Hemet, Calif. — On Monday, November 6, 2023, at approximately 7:30 am, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference a restraining order violation in the 2800 block of Marilee Court. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim along with two children outside of the residence.
The investigation revealed, 46-year-old Angel Carrillo of Los Angeles, was inside the residence with another juvenile. Carrillo barricaded himself in the residence with the child and refused to exit. Officers were eventually able to remove the child from the residence; however, Carrillo refused to surrender.
Based on the circumstances, the Southwest Cities Swat Team, which Hemet PD is a member of, responded to the residence and assumed negotiations with Carrillo. After several hours of barricading himself in the residence, Carrillo was subsequently taken into custody.
Shooting Homicide Investigation
Hemet, Calif. — On Sunday, October 29, 2023, at approximately 11:23 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference an unresponsive male discovered at a mobile home park in the 200 block of West Kimball Ave. Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The name of the victim will not be released at this time pending official notification of his family.
On October 25, 2023, Hemet Police Officers responded to a major injury traffic collision with one fatality. The investigation was turned over to CHP.
