Lieutenant Art Paez is the Hemet Police Department’s Operation Bureau Commander. He currently supervises:
- Patrol Operations
- Special Operations Unit (SOU) & Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT)
- Field Training Program
- K-9
- Recruitment
- Honor Guard
- Fleet
Lieutenant Paez graduated from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Academy in 2011 and has held the following assignments:
- 2011 – Patrol
- 2013 – Field Training Officer (FTO)
- 2016 – Assigned to the initial Restoring Our Community Strategy (ROCS) team as a Detective
- 2016 – Assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit as a Detective
- 2018 – Promoted to Corporal and assigned to the Investigations Bureau
- 2019 – Assigned to Patrol as a Field Supervisor
- 2020 – Promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Patrol as a Watch Commander
- 2020 – Field training program & recruitment coordinator
- 2021 – Assigned to the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, Region 3, as a Commander
- 2023 – Promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the operations division
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, California Coast University.
- California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, and Management Certificates.
