Hemet, Calif. — On Saturday, April 1, 2023, at approximately 10:56 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call of gunshots heard in the 1800 block of W. Devonshire Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Passenger Killed in Traffic Collision

Hemet, Calif. — On Monday, February 6, 2023, at about 3:41 pm, the Hemet Police Dispatch Center began receiving calls about a traffic collision that had just occurred in the intersection of Cawston Ave. and Devonshire Ave. in the City of Hemet. The initial callers reported that two vehicles were involved and that at least two people were unconscious. Hemet Police and Fire Department units immediately responded to the location.

Fatal shooting investigation-update

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, at approximately 12:45 am, Hemet Police Department officers responded to a motel located in the 2600 block of W. Florida Ave, Hemet, regarding shots fired.  Hemet police officers arrived on scene and located a male gunshot victim. Officers provided lifesaving measures until relieved by Hemet Fire Personnel. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Fatal Traffic Collision

On Monday, August 25th, 2025, at approximately 6:02 AM, Hemet Police Communications Center received several calls regarding a traffic collision in the area of Warren Road and Poplar Street, in the City of Hemet (County of Riverside).  Hemet Police Officers arrived on scene within minutes and located three involved vehicles, with one of the drivers being unresponsive.  Medical aid was rendered to the unresponsive female driver.  Despite these life-saving measures, the female driver succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.  One of the other involved drivers was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center (RUHS) for what appeared to be minimal to moderate injuries.  The third driver involved in this collision remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
