September is Pedestrian Safety Month, and the Hemet Police Department will participate in activities throughout the month encouraging the safety of people walking.
shooting investigation – Update
Hemet, Calif. – On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at approximately 3:21 p.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference two subjects shot in the 900 block of West Florida Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a hospital and are currently listed in critical condition. The Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau has assumed the investigation.
Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Collision
On Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at about 7:57 PM, Hemet Police Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 5500 block of W. Devonshire Avenue. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and discovered a deceased male in the roadway. Officers could not locate a vehicle at the scene and determined that the involved vehicle had fled the area prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
