The Hemet Police Department launched a new Drone as a First Responder (DFR) Program to enhance its law enforcement capabilities. The DFR program will use small, remotely operated Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), also commonly referred to as drones, to provide law enforcement with critical information as they respond to calls for service and emergencies.

Driver Killed in Traffic Collision
On Sunday, 09/08/2024 , at approximately 9:02 PM, Hemet Police Officers responded to an unknown injury traffic collision on Mountain Ave. just west of Soboba St. in the City of Hemet. Officers arrived on the scene and located a silver Kia Forte and a red Hyundai Ioniq with major collision damage within both lanes of traffic.

Hemet, Calif. – On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at approximately 3:21 p.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference two subjects shot in the 900 block of West Florida Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a hospital and are currently listed in critical condition. The Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau has assumed the investigation.
