Hemet, Calif. – On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 9:20 PM, Hemet Police Communications Center received a call of a juvenile shot in the leg in the 1800 block of Mayflower Place. When officers arrived on scene, they located one juvenile suffering from a single gunshot wound and ensured immediate medical attention was administered. The injury was not considered to be life threatening and the juvenile was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Preliminary information revealed a firearm was discharged from inside the home which resulted in the injury to the juvenile. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident that poses no danger to the public. This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
