In the early hours of Monday, June 11, 2024, at approximately 1:29 a.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received multiple reports of a verbal altercation at the Shadow Canyon Apartments, located in the 3000 block of West Acacia Avenue. According to one caller, a female at the apartment made threats to shoot responding police officers and was reportedly seen with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the individual, later identified as 38-year-old Christina Lozano of Hemet, had left the premises. Officers located Ms. Lozano a short time later at a nearby gas station. During their interaction, Ms. Lozano produced a loaded firearm and pointed it at the officers. The officers quickly and successfully subdued her and removed the firearm from her possession.
Ms. Lozano was arrested and subsequently booked into a Riverside County Jail, with bail set at $60,000.00. The charges include assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer.
