Hemet, Calif. —  The Hemet Police Department is proud to announce the donation of a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor to the students of Alessandro High School’s Career Technical Education (CTE) First Responder program. The official donation took place on May 9, 2025, and marks an important step in strengthening partnerships between law enforcement and local Hemet schools to invest in the next generation of public safety professionals.

The First Responder CTE program at Alessandro High School provides students with hands-on experience and knowledge in fields such as law enforcement, fire service, and emergency medical services. This innovative program introduces students to the essential skills, tools, and scenarios first responders encounter in the line of duty, helping prepare them for both higher education pathways and direct entry into public safety careers.

This donation is more than just a retired patrol vehicle. The donated Crown Victoria, Unit #3176, will serve as a valuable training tool, allowing students to practice scenarios such as vehicle inspections, felony stops, patrol procedures, and emergency response simulations. School Resource Officer Jake Dominguez, who once patrolled the streets of Hemet in the very same police vehicle, shared how meaningful it was to see it now serving as a training tool for future first responders.

The Police Vehicle Donation event featured speakers including Principal Matt Centofranchi, School Resource Officer Jake Dominguez, Police Chief Michael Arellano, Hemet Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Christi Barrett, and student speaker Isaiah Vargas.

The Hemet Police Department is committed to creating strong partnerships with our youth. Collaborations like this ensure that students have access to resources and mentorship opportunities that foster career readiness, leadership, and community engagement. Together, we are building a safer, more prepared community by supporting those who will answer the call in the years to come.
