The Hemet Police Department will begin the Citizens Academy Class #3 on Thursday, March 9. There is no exercise or physical stress in this academy, as might be found in a traditional police academy, and we encourage all people over the age of 18 to attend.
The Citizens’ Academy provides students an inside look into the Hemet Police Department. During this ten-week Academy, students will learn from department personnel who are experts in the areas of Patrol, Investigations, SWAT, K-9, Dispatch, Traffic Enforcement, and other related fields.
The Citizens’ Academy will begin on March 9, 2023, and will be held on Thursdays from 6 pm – 9 pm for ten consecutive weeks.
Prospective participants for the Citizens’ Academy must meet the following criteria:
– Applicants must either reside/work in the city of Hemet or have an affiliation with the city of Hemet
– Applicants must be a minimum age of 18 years
– Applicants must have no felony convictions, outstanding warrants, or pending criminal cases
– Applicants must successfully complete a background check and interview process
