Hemet, CA.- On Friday August 8th, 2025 at approximately 06:08 pm, Hemet Police Communications Center received a 911 call, regarding a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle, in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Soboba Street, in the City of Hemet. Officers arrived on scene and located the involved parties. The bicyclist involved was actively being treated by medical personnel and immediately transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be moderate injuries. The driver involved in this collision also remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
On 08/10/2025, while being treated at a local hospital, the bicyclist involved in this collision succumbed to his injuries. Based on this information, the Hemet Police Department Traffic Bureau assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that the bicyclist was riding east on Lincoln Avenue when he collided with a vehicle traveling north on Soboba Street. This investigation is currently ongoing and driving under the influence does not appear to be a factor in this collision. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
