Hemet, CA — On Wednesday, July 27, at approximately 5:54 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call of a missing female adult from a residence in the 900 block of Mellisa Drive. Officers responded to the call and a Missing Person Report was taken for 47-year-old Melanie Conroy.
On Thursday, July 28, Melanie’s family located evidence suggesting Melanie’s disappearance was not voluntary. The Hemet Police Department’s Detective Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
On Friday, July 29, at approximately 12:54 pm, Hemet Police Department Detectives located Melanie’s body in the trunk of her vehicle, which was parked in a Park & Ride, in the City of Vista, California.
The Hemet Police Department’s investigation has led to the arrest of 46-year-old Michael Lorence of Hemet, on Friday, August 12, for Homicide. Michael was already in-custody in a San Diego County Jail on an unrelated arrest warrant and is currently awaiting transfer to a Riverside County Jail.
