The Hemet Police Department Volunteer Program was created in 1993 as a way for citizens to supplement the Hemet Police Department’s sworn officers. The intention of the program is for volunteers to perform certain tasks that otherwise would be performed by sworn police officers and thereby allowing the police officer to spend more time on the streets. The volunteers operate a wide variety of services for the police department such as Alzheimer Registration, Crime Scene Call Outs, Livescan Fingerprinting, Parking Enforcement, Traffic Control, Vacation Property Checks and Special Events (such as Parades, Ramona Outdoor Play).
Hemet Police Volunteers sign up to work in the fields that interest them most and they are most comfortable in. They bring years of experience to our Department and are not forced into working in an area they are not suited for or do not enjoy.

Hemet Police Department Citizens Academy
Want to learn more about how your police department works? The Hemet Police Department Citizens Academy is a free, interactive program designed to give community members an inside look at law enforcement. Participants will meet the officers and staff behind the badge, tour our facilities, and get hands-on experience with everything from crime scene investigations to patrol operations. It’s a great way to connect, ask questions, and build a stronger partnership between the police and the community we serve.
Please use the form below or download the form and return it to the Hemet Police Department.
