Hemet, CA. – On Monday, August 25th, 2025, at approximately 6:02 AM, Hemet Police Communications Center received several calls regarding a traffic collision in the area of Warren Road and Poplar Street, in the City of Hemet (County of Riverside). Hemet Police Officers arrived on scene within minutes and located three involved vehicles, with one of the drivers being unresponsive. Medical aid was rendered to the unresponsive female driver. Despite these life-saving measures, the female driver succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. One of the other involved drivers was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center (RUHS) for what appeared to be minimal to moderate injuries. The third driver involved in this collision remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
Based on this information, the Hemet Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a silver Chevrolet Colorado was northbound on Warren Road at Poplar Street when he drifted into the northbound lanes of Warren Road. In doing so, he sideswiped a blue Chevrolet Cruz, who was travelling southbound on Warren Road. The sideswipe collision caused the driver of the blue Chevrolet Cruz to lose control of the vehicle and slide sideways into the opposing northbound lanes. The third vehicle, a silver Toyota Tundra, was travelling northbound on Warren Road and collided with the passenger side the blue Chevrolet Cruz. Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending family notification. Warren Road, between Simpson Road and Mustang Way, was closed for approximately 5 hours.
