HPD 14-02343, Jamison, Dori
On Saturday, 03/22/2014, Hemet Police and Fire Communications Center received a call for medical aid to be dispatched to the 200 block of South Lyon Avenue in the City of Hemet, County of Riverside. When the Hemet Fire Department arrived at the location, they entered the trailer and found a deceased female victim, later identified as 47-year-old Dori De Ann Jamison, lying face down. Due to apparent signs of death, the victim was pronounced deceased. The Hemet Police Department was then called in to investigate the suspicious death. It was later determined the victim had been strangled.
During the investigation, detectives interviewed several neighbors, friends, and family members. They learned Ms. Jamison had recently broken up with her boyfriend and began dating another man. No neighbor reported hearing any fights or arguing coming from Ms. Jamison’s trailer near the time of the incident. Everyone who knew Ms. Jamison said she was always upbeat and happy. The last known person to speak with Ms. Jamison was her mother on Wednesday, 03/19/2014, at about 7:30 p.m. The mother stated that the conversation was positive; she didn’t notice any concerns, and the victim did not mention anything concerning.
After not hearing from Ms. Jamison for several days, her ex-boyfriend came to check on her. There was no answer when he arrived. He asked the neighbors to go with him to her trailer, and he forced entry into the trailer, where he found her body. Detectives found no other signs of forced entry or a struggle within the trailer.
The Homicide Cold Case Unit is now asking the public for any new information or leads that could assist in solving this case and bring closure to Dori Jamison’s family.
