Hemet, Calif. —  The Hemet Police Department launches SPIDR Tech, a Versaterm Public Safety company, which is an automated notification system that will send automated text messages to people who have called 9-1-1 or the non-emergency phone number and requested calls for service from the Hemet Police Department.

SPIDR Tech went live on September 19, 2024, at approximately 09:30 A.M. This system is designed to keep victims of crime, reporting parties, and 9-1-1 callers updated after they request police assistance and services. Callers should expect to receive a text message acknowledging their call for service. In some cases, an officer may be delayed when a higher-priority call for service comes in and the officer must be diverted or due to the high call volume in the city. An automated message will be sent to the caller letting them know about the delay.

This system will also provide the opportunity for community members to provide feedback through an easy-to-use online survey regarding their interaction with the Department. This survey will be optimized for mobile devices and will be sent as a link to their mobile phone, enabling participants to fill it out at their convenience. Automated messages will be available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

By utilizing SPIDR Tech, The Hemet Police Department will be able to efficiently communicate and provide a higher level of service to the community. Responses from the community will also allow the Hemet Police Department to analyze feedback and apply it to operational improvements and response times.
