Two Arrested for Carjacking

Hemet, Calif. — On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at approximately 12:27 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call regarding a carjacking in the 1200 block of South Sanderson Avenue in Hemet. A witness described two males pushing an elderly female, taking her keys, and stealing her Toyota pickup truck.

May is National Bicycle Safety Month, and the Hemet Police Department is encouraging more people to get active and safely take bike rides.

“Bicycling is a great means of transportation and recreation, and everyone deserves to ride to their destination safely,” Traffic Sergeant Gabriel Gomez said. “Let’s look out for one another and share the road, share the responsibility.”

On Friday, April 25, 2025, the Hemet Police Department’s Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Team conducted a targeted “Blitz” operation, focusing on Petco and Smart & Final stores within the city. This proactive initiative aimed to address and deter organized retail theft activities affecting local businesses.

two suspects arrested in human trafficking and torture case

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 2:28 p.m., Hemet Police officers responded to Hemet Global Medical Center following a report of sexual abuse. After an initial interview with the victim, the department’s Investigations Division took over the case to begin a detailed investigation.

Investigators determined that the victim had been subjected to torture, sexual assault, and forced prostitution. During the investigation, a second victim was identified who also reported that she had been trafficked, raped, and physically assaulted by the same suspects. The identities of both victims are being withheld for privacy and safety.

Through the course of the investigation, Davion Marshall and Travis Grisham were identified as the primary suspects. On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Hemet Police Investigators, with support from Southwest City SWAT, took both suspects into custody in the 300 block of South State Street in Hemet without incident.
