Hemet, Calif. – On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 2:22 a.m., the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center received a call reference an adult suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim walked into a business in the 1100 block of South Sanderson Avenue with a wound to his neck. He told employees he had been shot behind the business and left the location.
Officers arrived at the scene and were unable to locate the victim. Evidence located at the scene led to the 3800 block of West Stetson Avenue, where officers believe the shooting occurred. Officers later learned the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.
Officers contacted the victim, who did not provide any additional information regarding the incident. The investigation revealed that the victim may have been shot by a pellet gun. The Hemet Police Department’s Investigations Bureau has assumed the investigation.
