Hemet, CA.- On Friday May 22, 2026, at approximately 2:58 PM, Hemet Police Communications Center received a call regarding a traffic collision that occurred in the area of 700 N. Meridian Street, in the City of Hemet. Officers arrived on scene shortly after and located a motorcycle and pick-up truck that were involved in the collision.  The rider of the motorcycle was unresponsive, so officers immediately began rendering aid to the motorcyclist until they were relieved by medical personnel. Despite these life saving measures, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.

Based on this information, the Hemet Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Merdian Street and the truck was on westbound Berkley Avenue at the Meridian Street intersection.  The truck made a left turn onto southbound Meridian Street when the collision occurred.  Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notifications.  Meridian Street was closed from Southhampton Court to Park Hill Street from approximately 2:58 PM to 08:50 PM

If you witnessed this collision or have any helpful information for Traffic Investigators, you are urged to contact Officer Evangelique Cordero at (951)765-2400 and reference file #2026-03847.
