May is National Bicycle Safety Month, and the Hemet Police Department is encouraging everyone to get active and safely take bike rides while at the same time reminding drivers to be on the lookout for more people biking and walking.
During Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in May, the Hemet Police Department would like to remind drivers to always look twice for motorcycles. By practicing safe driving habits and taking shared responsibility on our roads, we can help everyone arrive at their destination safely.
As the excitement builds for Super Bowl LVIII, the Hemet Police Department reminds football fans to intercept impaired driving if they’re heading out to a Super Bowl party and plan on drinking. Make sure you stick to the “Go Safely” game plan and choose a sober way to go.
On Monday, December 18, 2023, The Hemet Police Department’s ROCS Team and the California Highway Patrol’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force conducted an Organized Retail Theft Sting at the retail stores located in the KPC Towne Plaza in the City of Hemet.
During August and September, the Hemet Police Department’s Traffic Bureau has organized several enforcement operations focusing on pedestrian safety. Motor Officers will be paying particular attention to vehicle code violations related to pedestrian safety. Additionally, they will focus on high pedestrian traffic areas such as schools and shopping plazas.
The Hemet Police Department will hold a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License Checkpoint on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am at an undisclosed location within the City of Hemet.
